Hanap Habi is a social enterprise with a goal to empower women through conscious Filipina fashionThe brand name comes from the word “hanap-buhay” (livelihood) as weaving is the main source of livelihood for women weavers in Benguet.

Hanap Habi also represents the materials used for our products: “mga nahanap at mga hinabi” (things found and things woven). We upcycle old clothes and fabric scraps we find. We match and rework these with local weaves from Cordillera.

We work with a community of home-based women weavers in Benguet and home-based female sewers in ManilaPart of the profit earned from each of our collections goes back to our women workers.

Weaves for Weavers is a fundraising project for our partner women weavers' weaving loom repairs and raw materialsWeaving is the main source of livelihood for women weavers in Benguet. Currently, we are working with 7 weavers, all of whom have families to support.

To continue weaving as a source of livelihood and for the preservation of culture, the weavers also need quality instruments– quality looms. The quality of the looms will also affect their productivity and quality of work. In the coming months, we are also exploring new types of fabrics that our partners can weave. We’ve started with sample production of our plain fabrics that can be used for more casual clothing (the same one we use for our Cresencia Convertible Blazer!). To produce these fabrics, our weavers will need capital for raw materials. Providing this for them would relieve them of the dilemma of making their monthly budget fit for both household necessities and capital for weaving.

Get exclusive pre-launch access to our newest collection while supporting Benguet weavers’ livelihood when you pledge for #WeavesForWeavers.
