What is Squeaky Clean Kids?

Squeaky Clean Kids is a social enterprise that creates high-quality artisanal soaps out of organic materials, with the goal of creating healthy communities around the Philippines! For every soap purchased, one gets donated to a child in a low-income community!

We aim to help in the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the promotion of proper sanitation, the recycling of unused soap, and the generation of livelihoods in underserved communities!

Our Mission

According to the latest estimates of the WHO/UNICEF joint monitoring programme, 32% of the world's population - around 2.4 billion people - lack access to proper sanitation products and facilities. Out of those 2.4 billion people, a large chunk of them are children that either die or get sick by the thousands every day. 

In the Philippines, diarrhea is the fourth leading cause of sickness among children under five, and the third leading cause of death. In a study by the World Health Organization, simple hand washing with soap and water can potentially reduce diarrhea cases by 40%.

Many children from underprivileged families of the Philippines live without proper hygiene. With no access to soap or basic toiletries, they are left unprotected from infectious, yet preventable illnesses.

Another pressing challenge that was identified was the amount of unused hotel soaps that are regularly discarded. Every day thousands of soaps are discarded by hotels, with most of them ending up in our landfills. These wastes produce methane gas that affect our environment.

As a public health physician that now works as a doctor in hotel chains, Dr. Winston came across cases like these everyday: seeing children get sick from diseases that could have been easily prevented and seeing hotels discard perfectly good soap every day.

This is what led to the creation of Squeaky Clean Kids

What are we crowdfunding?

We are crowdfunding Squeaky Clean Kids soaps: organic and anti-bacterial soaps handmade with natural and local ingredients sourced from South Luzon.

For every purchase of artisanal soaps from Squeaky Clean Kids, you pay for another anti-bacterial, organic soap for a kid in need.

There are 5 different variants for our soaps and 3 different variants for our shampoo and conditioner bars:

Ginger and lemongrass - Ginger relaxes your nerves and lemongrass removes body odor. Ginger has a calming and relaxing effect that decreases inflammation. It contains gingerol, a powerful antioxidant that fights free radicals that cause premature aging. 

Goat’s milk, Honey and Oats - Goats milk hydrates and nourishes skin and Oatmeal provide gentle exfoliation while honey traps and seals in moisture leaving skin soft and supple.

Honey propolis - Helps to keep skin free of bacteria and washes away impurities. Propolis is used in this soap for its restorative benefits. Used for centuries to smoothen and soften skin, honey has hydrating properties that lock moisture in the skin. It has antioxidants that lessen damage from free radicals. 

Coco Cream and Virgin Coconut oil -Intense moisturizing soap, nourishes and detoxifies the skin. Saponified coconut oil contains lauric, capric and caprylic acid.

Charcoal soap- Clarifying bath soap. A soap that cleanses as well as it purifies and balances the skin.

Hair Fortifying and Volumizing Shampoo- A rich blend of cocoa butter, shea butter, rice bran oil, castor oil, and extra virgin coconut oil that will surely keep your hair nourished, moisturized and luscious looking. This bar can last up to 60 washes or more! 

Active Shampoo Bar- Nourish your hair with this powerful detox formula. Activated bamboo charcoal will pull out toxins from your hair and with added power of French Green Clay a biomineral that removes product build-up, dandruff and excess oils from the scalp. This bar can last 30 up to 45 days or longer with everyday use!

Squeaky Clean Conditioner- Condition your hair with this powerful detox formula that uses activated charcoal bamboo, french green clay, and tea tree and peppermint essentail oils. If that wasn't amazing enough already, it's also good as facial soap to minimize your pores! Don't be fooled by its size; it can last up to 45 to 60 washes!

Why are we crowdfunding?

We are crowdfunding to accelerate our growth in order for Squeaky Clean Kids to reach its full potential. After reaching 8 communities and providing hygiene kits and hand washing education to hundreds of kids, we want to expand our reach and sustain the health impact we have observed.

In addition to that, a portion of the funds raised will also be used in our soapmaking livelihood program.
