WHO WE ARE

 

Hi! We are The Bloomfields, with Lakan Hila on lead guitar, Rocky Collado on drums, Dino Pascual on rhythm guitar and Louie Poco on bass.  We’ve made a name for ourselves over the past 15 years as a high energy, old school rock and roll band playing classic songs by the Beatles, the Beach Boys and the Rolling Stones to the delight of nostalgic audiences. If you're familiar with us then you probably know that the band is also responsible for the OPM hit "ALE" back in the day. 

        

 WHY ARE WE CROWDFUNDING

We found ourselves now brimming with a need to express our creativity and have spent the last year and a half recording a new album in between our regular live gigs. As experienced Filipino artists we are excited to contribute our unique voice to an ever growing OPM scene that has been gaining momentum as an influential force on the world stage.

At a time where artists are expected to independently produce, market and sell their work, we are looking into crowdfunding to help us get our original music out to a wider audience without having to sign with a major record label. If our campaign is successful then we can serve as a template for other local bands to fund their music.

We are grateful for our friends and fans who have supported us through the years by dropping by our gigs, sharing our content online or by just cheering amongst the crowd. Through our spark project campaign, our fans can now have an avenue to actively participate and contribute to the creation and launch of the band’s original songs.

          

WHAT ARE WE CROWDFUNDING

With your help we are looking to release 10 new tracks, compiled into our 2nd All original Album called “A DROP INTO THE BLUE”. We are also launching our very first official Bloomfields merchandise so that our fans can take home more exclusive stuff.

A DROP INTO THE BLUE is an album that plays with the concept of duality by juxtaposing contrasting ideas in order to express more nuanced thoughts that we couldn’t have said through ordinary language.

What’s unique with this album is that, for the first time, we had full creative control of all the songs and everything was self-produced which allowed us time to let our very own distinct sound to come out through each track. We currently have 6 songs ready for releasing and we’ll be finishing the last 4 songs very soon. In fact, you can already catch our first single “Tutut” online!

 WHERE DOES THE FUNDING GO

The money raised from our campaign will cover the mixing and mastering of our new tracks, the production of new merch and the creation of more exciting content for our fans, including music videos for some of the songs. The campaign also presells tickets for our album launch on June 1, 2019.

GOUACHE X THE BLOOMFIELDS MUSIC DOPP KIT

We created this kit to house gadgets that musicians and music lovers typically bring around with them: headphones, speakers, guitar pedals, mics, cables and picks.

 

UP-CYCLED VINTAGE CASSETTE MP3 PLAYER 

These are actual cassette tapes up-cycled into working mp3 players. The player has socket for a micro SD card and has a 3.5 mm audio jack socket to connect your earphones. It has volume controls and you can change tracks by simply turning the tape reels.

 

 

What makes our rewards and merchandise extra extra special is that we worked with an awesome surrealist illustrator Tej Tan to interpret and create original art for each song from the album. We have 6 artworks done and the funds will also help us complete the art deck.

   

Backer rewards will be distriuted during the album launch slated for June 1. But we can also send them via courier for backers who are out of town and for those that won't be able to attend the launch event.

Your earnest money is going to the production and marketing promotion for the album and that includes Music videos and other online content, the Mixing and Mastering of our recorded songs, production of CD copies, Music videos and other marketing content Production of our new merch like shirts, pins,a special x gouache bag, a unique upcycled cassette mp3 player and more!
The full album will be released in all digital platforms (Spotify, Deezer, Amazon music and Apple music. We will also be releasing physical copies on CD and a special Up-cycled Cassette mp3 player.
These are actual cassette tapes up-cycled into working mp3 players. The player has socket for a micro SD card and has a 3.5 mm audio jack socket to connect your earphones. It has volume controls and you can change tracks by simply turning the tape reels.
We are targeting June 1, 2019 to be our launch date but if there will be changes we will keep in touch with you during and after the campaign. Venue is TBA at the end of the campaign as we need to check first how many people will be going to the launch to be sure that we book the right venue size.
You will get these amazing rewards only during the Album Launch event on June 1, 2019 Exact details of the venue will be announced after the campaign is done.
Your rewards will be sent to you via courier or you can always drop by our gigs to pick them up :)
The album is already 70% done so we feel confident that we can launch it by June 1. Our main challenge is the production of the merchandise for the rewards. But we have been coordinating closely with suppliers and we can mitigate this risk by giving timely project status to our backers in case we foresee any delays with the merchandise.
